A: See Join ESAR.
A: An orientation is the best way to get information about our organization. Guests are welcome at board meetings and general meetings, but these meetings are geared for members who have passed our 4 brushmonkey training courses and are not always ideal for new or incoming members.
A: Yes, but we will not sign off on hours until you have completed Brushmonkey certification and have been active with ESAR on search missions. Training new members costs us time and money and does not benefit our unit or the community. Because of this, we will only sign off your community service hours once you have participated in actual missions, trainings or activities that are not required for basic brushmonkey certification.
A: No, but you must be able to quickly respond to missions in Pierce County. Many times, even if we are responding to a mission out of county, we will rendezvous at a central point in Pierce County before departing. If you can’t respond to our missions quickly, there are other ESAR groups in our neighboring counties. King, Kitsap, and Thurston counties all have ESAR groups with similar training programs.
